HELL 480 CHALLENGE 2024 : NOT A RACE
We are back with the 5th Edition of the Hell 480 Challenge - a Virtual Hell challenge where we ask you to run 480 KM in 30 days. Our experiences of watching you break and build yourself at The Hell Races had given us this idea of creating this virtual challenge in the garb of hosting a simulation of the Hell Ultra distance of the Great Himalayan Running Festival.
We took the distance of 480 KM and spread it over the month of June during the pandemic days - first to see how well the running communities across the world receive this idea. Over the years, this virtual event that we called HELL 480 CHALLENGE found its own global challengers who made it an epic manifestation of commitment, consistency, and self control. Some called it a transformative experience, some celebrated it as an expression of self love, a few took it as repentance, and some elites defined it as a challenge that purged them of their ailments.
In the first two editions during the pandemic, and an edition later, we have had some 900 challengers taking up the challenge from over 30 countries. While we watched the data on the screens, a few also fell into the trap of taking the Hell 480 Challenge as a race and aimed to rank on the leaderboards. We differed and guided along as the creators of this unique challenge. This year, in July, the only virtual challenge from The Hell Race invites you again to test yourselves so that you get to prove your mettle to none but yourself.
