INTRODUCTION TO DESIGN-BY-ANALYSIS (DBA) METHODS IN SIZING PRESSURE COMPONENTS TO ASME VIII-2 REQUIREMENTS.CONTENTThis four hour master class introduces the concepts and practice of Design-by-Analysis, in the context of design requirements contained in ASME Boiler &amp; Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 2 (ASME VIII-2).Participants are introduced to fundamental scope and purpose of DBA rules, basic concepts in design of Pressure Components, such as Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers. Participants are provided an abridged insight to the various failure mode mechanisms such as plastic collapse, buckling and fatigue.Design-by-Analysis requirements, methods both elastic and inelastic as per ASME VIII-2 are explained, and practical design procedures such as load combinations, stress linearization are introduced to the participants with real case studies and solved examples.
